When Chic was launched in 1957, Bodenschatz accessories conquered Swiss bathrooms in no time. The combination of high quality, trend-setting design and innovative mounting solution at a reasonable price set new standards. To ensure that Chic continues to meet the changing needs of its discerning Swiss clientele, Bodenschatz has continually updated its accessories.
Looking into the past and stepping into the future
For the current seventh product development the design team looked into the development history of each edition of Chic since its first launch. «We realized how well-balanced the design was in each case: avant-garde, but not extravagant», says project manager Philipp Gilgen of the Tale Designstudio in Basel. In these big footsteps, the latest edition of Chic takes a further step forward. Chic remains Chic, but the lines gain in clearness, the shapes in simplicity.
«We always had the whole bathroom in mind», Philipp Gilgen explains. Because after all, every accessory is part of a system that includes the entire bathroom architecture, from the shower tray to the fittings – as well as the changing habits of the users. The latest edition has become even more practical and blends harmoniously into contemporary bathrooms.
A solution for every need
Thanks to the comprehensive range, Chic offers a variety of ways to organize one’s bathroom according to one’s individual needs. The Chic products range from shower baskets to bath handles and toilet roll holders to tumblers for dental hygiene. The special features include the tray for smartphones, the double and the foldable triple bath towel rail as well as the ergonomic toilet brush with easy-to-clean container.
Tried-and-tested elements have naturally been continued in this new edition of Chic. The pioneering quality of the materials has been retained just as the advantageous price-performance ratio, the 10-year warranty and the long-term availability of spare parts. In addition, the established drill hole spacing remains the same. So if you want to modernize your bathroom in a simple way, you can mount the new wall flange in the same place and pull the new Chic accessories over it – done!
Mounting has also been simplified through an innovation. As in the past, the pioneering Adesio system allows you to choose between bonding or drilling. The combination flange, which combines both options in a single part, is new. The extra flange for bonding is no longer required – thus reducing the plastic used.
Thanks to the Adesio bonding solution, accessories can also be mounted on thin walls and glass – and mounting causes neither dust nor noise. The special adhesive from Sika guarantees a high-quality adhesive bond. Conventional drilling remains possible.
