The history of the Bringhen Group began in 1959 quite modestly in Visp, in the canton of Valais, where Hans Bringhen founded the «Bringhen AG» with his son Hugo. The company of father & son, both specialists in the building materials industry, became very popular in the Upper Valais region. Hugo Bringhen, trained by the army in establishing an efficient organization, managed the company in a very structured way.

In 1983, Hugo’s son, Jean-Pierre Bringhen, received his university doctorate in business administration. He began to implement the content of his dissertation «Fundamentals of Strategic Management in the Wholesale of Building Materials» in the company.

1983: Opening of Santag AG in Thun, in partnership with Ernst Rebmann.

1984: Opening of Bringhen SA in Sierre

1984: Opening of Bringhen AG in Düdingen

In 1991, Jean-Pierre Bringhen took over the operational management of the company. Thanks to the advantage of growing up bilingual, overcoming language barriers was no obstacle for the entrepreneur.

2009: 50 years of Bringhen AG Visp – In half a century, the family business with roots in Valais has developed into one of the leading Swiss wholesalers in the construction market. At this time, the Bringhen Group employed around 300 employees throughout Switzerland.

2018: The fourth generation with Michael Lochmatter-Bringhen and Nicole Lochmatter-Bringhen, daughter of Jean-Pierre Bringhen, joins the family business.

2019: The Bringhen Group starts a business cooperation with Paul Maret SA in Le Châble. This added Paul Maret SA to the Bringhen Group sales network. Paul Maret SA sells outdoor tiles, construction material, lumber and tools.

2019: 60 years Bringhen AG Visp

2019: 35 years Bringhen AG Düdingen

2020/01/18: Hugo Bringhen, our company founder, passes away.

2020: The handover of the branch management of the Bringhen AG Visp from Jean-Pierre Bringhen to his son-in-law Michael Lochmatter-Bringhen took place. With this handover, Jean-Pierre Bringhen relinquished the last branch operationally managed by him. Jean-Pierre Bringhen remains CEO of the Bringhen Group.

2021: The Bringhen Group opens a new branch in Orbe, VD. At Saneo Orbe, plumbing products, wall & floor coverings, tools and professional clothing are available.

2021: On November 25, 2021, our new branch Saneo Givisiez opened and the old branch Saneo Corminboeuf was closed. The reason for the move was mostly due to the limited floor area in Corminboeuf.
